Comprehensive Design and Analysis of Rotor Stress for HSPMM Considering Cooling Method

In the design process of a high-speed motor, reasonable rotor stress analysis is necessary prerequisite to guarantee its safe and reliable operation. this paper, comprehensive 200 kW 20,000 r/min permanent magnet motor (HSPMM) with magnetic bearing are carried out. Firstly, distribution characteristics rotors different structures thermal expansion coefficients filling materials analyzed compared. Secondly, determined through comparative sleeve thicknesses shrink fit. Furthermore, considering axial temperature gradient due ventilation cooling method adopted by prototype, checked coupling calculation fluent static stress. Finally, several long-period running tests out, showing good agreement between calculated measured results, operation prototype verifies correctness above theoretical analysis.
